Founded in 2016, PLUS Systems (formerly known as PLUS Passive Fire) is an award-winning construction company specialising in passive fire protection advice, education, inspections and certification. Company of the Year in the Fire Protection Industry Awards in 2017, PLUS made the 2018 Financial Review list of 100 fastest growing new companies after at 27% growth of revenue in the first two years.
With recent legislation changes and an increased focus on compliance and awareness, the industry continues to grow rapidly, and PLUS Systems are at the forefront of that growth. PLUS has a strong commitment to pioneering technology and innovation in the industry and have built a specialist team of experts in the field of passive fire to ensure their clients understand and can remain compliant with all passive fire legislation and standards whilst feeling confident in the quality of their projects.

Meet our Managing Director and Certifier Peter Blain

Challenging outdated opinions and practices within the construction industry, Peter uses his position as a founder, educator, and keynote speaker to encourage change for the better within the passive fire niche and the wider business world.
Backed by a wealth of diverse knowledge, he is driven to awaken the broader industry to the importance of getting passive fire right the first time every time and reminding them of the dire consequences if they fail to do so.
Through this passion and over 40 years of accumulated expertise he educates to add value to their projects in addition to protecting life, assets, and health. This education has been delivered via client specific training, forums, workshops, programs written for industry bodies and addresses at conferences, most recently the Fire Australia Annual Conference in 2021.
As Managing Director of Plus Systems, Peter oversees a systemised approach to passive fire while developing solutions to technical challenges ensuring compliance standards are developed and maintained.
As an expert witness, current member of the 2019 AWCI Technical committee and Director of Plus Systems, he aims to Educate, Connect and Transform the construction industry for the better, ultimately protecting lives and livelihoods.
